Ascarate is a Lower Valley, primarily Hispanic neighborhood close to highways 10, 20, 54 and 110. It is located in El Paso, Texas. The population of this area is an approximate 111,500 as of the last taken poll. It sits between the Texas/Old and New Mexico borders and a set of railroad tracks. Residents and visitors have access to apartment dwellings, dining establishments and a drive-in movie theater. Ascarate is also ready for your meeting, family reunion, banquet, wedding or other event. Their is plenty of scenery and sport provided by a somewhat dehydrated Ascarate Lake where swimming is prohibited, buty is teeming with channel catfish, white bass and rainbow trout, an Ascarate Fishing Club, the Ron Coleman Hiking Trail, the McKelligon Canyon Bike Trail, camp grounds as provided by Roadrunner Travel Trailer Park and Mission Trail Village. Lodging is available via hotels, motels and inns. There is also an airport. Nearby golf courses include the Lone Star Golf Club and Ascarate Municipal Golf Course. Youth members enjoy an annually played two day Junior Golf Tournament. Four miles away, there are two other lakes which are the Mountain Park Reservoir and the Pershing Reservoir. Also nearby is an aquatics center, an indoor Olympic sized swimming pool an baseball fields.
